Not being the victim, not being hurt.

It has been a while that the term “Cyber Bulling” came into our dictionary. But how many of us are aware of the cases? Some may even be a bully without noticing it.

Are they really heroes for revealing others’ secret?

There are many introverts that are not willing to express themselves in reality. Once they can reply or comment online, their speech would be extremely arrogant and wild, especially when they think it is okay to be irresponsible as no one know their true identity. “I am just a small potato on Earth, even others find out that I am for giving such reckless comments, they can do no harm to me!” They also reckon their speech as harmless as they don’t know the victim.

But is it true? Think as if you were the victim.

Conflict can be easily ignited online, but HARDLY could it be resolved.

I am not saying SCBA is doing right, or Ms Lai is good or what. I want to emphasize the role of every “netizens”. We should be careful before criticizing and judging others. Be reminded that our next generation will be relying Internet as much as we do now.

Finally, I think the Pearl Report is a good documentary on Cyber Bullying.

By the way, these should be an interesting topic for final year project – how to stop cyber-bullying efficiently or in the marketing sense, block negative image online, take a look of the election of US president, and you will see what I mean  http://www.thepajamapundit.com/2008/10/google-project.html.

Or simply search “John McCain” or “Barack Obama” in Google Image. Count how many funny/ teasing images you can have.

It would be great to co-operate with psychology and sociology.
